Bowls
marbled paper, paper table mats, Aperol, 00 fine flour
Edition of 10

Venetian carnival masks are used as moulds, two layers of paper mâché, the first layer consisting of table mats sourced from Venetian restaurants, the second of hand printed marbled paper produced by the oldest shop in Venice. Both materials fixed using a bonding paste mixed from Aperol and 00 fine flour.

Removed from their moulds when wet and malleable, the vessels were first presented slowly drying, changing colour and shape as they contracted and hardened.

Handmade in the A plus A Gallery during the official opening of Rob Pruitt’s Flea Market. The project is the result of an invitation from the curator Anna Volpe, and the working team of Curatorial Studies Venice.
