Tell me a bit about your postcards, such as “Email,” “Private And Confidential,” and “Junk Mail.” They remind me of that Magritte painting Ceci n’est pas une pipe—not in the sense of representation (this is not a pipe, but a pipe’s representation), but in how you say what something is, only to reaffirm
what it is. When you write “Private And Confidential,” for instance. A postcard is anything but private and confidential. It seems to me there is some irony in the whole idea . .. at the same time as you’re denying what it is, you also make us think about what it isn’t.
